Some Orchid Books I Like

Botanica's "Orchids" is an incredible compendium that lists more than 1200 orchid species. They are detailed in more than 2500 excellent photos. What I specially like about this book are the care and growing instructions, which are based on a careful evaluation of the orchid's natural habitat.

"Fragrant Orchids" - The wide variety of beautiful flowers long were the main aspect that attracted people to orchids and orchid growing. Now more and more orchid growers recognize them for their fragrance, which can be quite breathtaking. Cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla are just a few of the scents found in orchid flowers. The book describes 110 fragant orchids in detail, including cultivation instructions, a description of the scent and brilliant photos of each flower. Another 350 species and hybrids are incuded in the extensive listings, which allow you to select plants by intensity of fragrance, time of fragrance, ease of culture, light requirements, night time temperature and blooming season, A great book for beginners as well as for seasoned growers, who want to put emphasis on the fragrance of their plants.
