Hknsa (Jamaica Red x Mahalo Jack) ‘Carmela’

Hknsa (Jamaica Red x Mahalo Jack) ‘Carmela’ orchid plant

Hknsa. ( Jamaica Red x Mahalo Jack) ‘Carmela'.

Hawkinsara ( Hknsa.) is a cross between four genera, Broughtonia x Cattleya x Laelia x Sophronitis. The purpose of this is to miniaturize the orchid, but still retain the classic Cattleya shape with ruffled petals and lip.

The flower of this orchid is of a deep and absorbing mauve with just a splash of yellow in the throat.
This is again a plant from Sundance Orchids in Fort Myers, Fl.
