This is a great professional light meter that can be used by nurseries, hydroponics, hobby orchid growers, or or everybody who installs lighting or needs to check and audit light levels. It can also be used in research and science projects that need to record the light level countinously. It is very sensitive and has very high resolution in the low range from 0-40 lux, it measures in 0.1 steps. And it also has the highest upper range, up to 400,000 lux, therefore it can measure intense bright light and direct sunlight. 

This light meter can be connected to a computer using a USB port. USB cable and analytical software are included. The software allows you to record and control the light meter. Data can be analyzed on screen, it will give you the min, max and average value between the two moveable cursors. It also allows you to export the data to common spread sheet programs.

The software comes as is, I have used it on many Windows XP(TM) computers, and on some, but not all Windows Vista(TM) systems. I have not tested it with Windows 7(TM).
